Résumé: This article analyzes femicide in Italian literature, examining the transformations in the representation of violence against women and their social position from Roman times to the 20th century. It aims to outline the different literary contexts and highlight how the female figure shifted from a passive narrative role in ancient and medieval texts to a participatory role in subsequent periods. A specific focus will be on Dacia Maraini's novel Isolina, with the aim of highlighting how Maraini restores voice and dignity to a victim of femicide through a style that combines documentary elements with imaginative reconstruction, and a measured yet intense language, transforming writing into a tool of ethical and social commitment.

Résumé: The aim of this article is to highlight the potential of the detective novel to transmitthe culture of a country, to the point of becoming a cultural vector, by analysing a detective novelentitled “The Day of the Owl” by Leonardo Sciascia in order to demonstrate the cultural elementsencountered in this novel and what the reader acquires from reading it. The reading of a detectivenovel not only allows the reader to travel without barriers and open windows to the distant world, butalso arouses curiosity, openness and attention. The reader of a detective novel acquires culturalknowledge and will have the opportunity to enter into the daily life of a people and to learn about thetraditions and customs that characterize a group, a country, a way of life. So, the detective novel ingeneral, and Sciascia's one in particular, is always brimming with cultural elements that pass fromone country to another without barriers.

Résumé: The social and political circumstances, in which the Italian detective novel appeared and developed, obliged the novelists to be pro-Fascists. Fascism, in fact, featured Italy as an ideal and crime-free State. Through their works, those novelists were obliged to describe fascism as the only regime that ensures social security for everyone. In many cases, authors who adopted this literary genre kept only formal characteristics of the detective story. As for the other characteristics, they had to apply the fascist doctrine related to this genre: pro-fascist topics; the criminal is always a foreigner, not Italian; the investigator, however, is Italian: he represents the fascist regime that must always defeat the criminal. Thus, the novel which does not observe (apply) these elements lose copy right, and his author becomes a target of fascist surveillance.

Résumé: Résumé Depuis que le prix Nobel de littérature a été décerné à l'écrivain Naguib Mahfouz, la scène littéraire italienne s'est, de plus en plus, intéressée aux œuvres et à la littérature arabes contemporaines. En effet, de grands écrivains et traducteurs italiens, ainsi que d'importantes revues et maisons d’édition ont manifesté un intérêt accru pour la traduction et la publication de ces œuvres en langue italienne pour le grand public qui méconnait la littérature arabe ou qui n'en connait que la littérature classique, préislamique ou populaire. Par ailleurs, des changements reflétant ce renouveau littéraire, corollaire des conditions politiques et sociales du monde arabe, ont été opérés dans les programmes universitaires consacrés à l'enseignement de la littérature arabe des modules traitant de la littérature arabe contemporaine ont été introduits dans les programmes universitaires afin de permettre aux étudiants italiens d'y avoir accès à travers de nombreux ouvrages et travaux d'orientalistes et de traducteurs. En ce sens, la priorité a été accordée d'une part à l'enseignement de la littérature arabe contemporaine au détriment de la littérature préislamique et classique et d'autre part à l'étude du roman arabe contemporain au détriment de la poésie. De même, la littérature féministe, notamment saoudienne et yéménite, a suscité un intérêt majeur chez ces traducteurs et orientalistes. Le présent travail a pour objectif de présenter ces ouvrages arabes traduits, étudiés dans l'université italienne, ainsi que les critères de leur sélection.
