The goal of the MAEWA project is to study the mitigation of agricultural effects on Mediterranean soils and wetlands, focusing on the development of bioremediation technologies that can provide environmental and economic benefits.
Thème :
Algerian-Tunisian cooperation “Assessing the state of two anthropogenic Mediterranean lagoons using chemical and biological indicators: the Bizerte Lagoon (Tunisia) and the El Mellah Lagoon (Algeria) (2021-2025).
Présentation :
This project aims i) to estimate the state of biodiversity at the two lagoons by identifying the taxonomy of the biocenosis, particularly the benthos and phytoplankton, in a suitable manner. İi) Evaluate the level of contamination of the study sites by characterizing certain priority pollutants and assessing their ecotoxicological impacts.

Agriculture effects on inland saline water bodies and on lake/lagunahydrological complexes
Présentation :
This project aims to characterize the impact of human activities on saline wetlands in arid/semi-arid areas. The mains objective were to gain new insight on i) the effect of agricultural activities on the organization of the microbial communities living in such ecosystems, and ii) on the microbial metabolic capacities to mitigate the effect of pollutants.
